由王医生赞助的808俱乐部的健康杯高尔夫球赛圆满的结束了，比赛的场地在Spanaway的Classic golf course举行. 这个球场景色优美，同时也有很高的难度。是PGA职业球员Ryan Moore的主场地。一共有40多位选手参加了比赛的角逐，Bellevue的华裔现任市长李瑞麟也参加了比赛，并为比赛开杆。

比赛当天的天气非常好，而且气温适宜，为我们的球员展现了西雅图最美的夏天。比赛异常激烈，而且每个队都打出了不少的好球。在球场上留下了很多的精彩瞬间。最值得一提的是李市长在第八洞推出了一个超长的30码的小鸟推，绝对达到了PGA职业选手的水准。

本次比赛由Steve Yang，Kim，Bruce Zhong, Jason Dai所在小组勇摘桂冠，他们以低于标准干4杆的成绩取得了净杆数冠军。由Greater China董事长Ben Zhang带领的国际纵队，最后打到了低于标准杆15杆的成绩，拿到了13个小鸟球和1个老鹰球，但是仍然没有拿到净杆数的冠军。说明了这次比赛的激烈和球员的水平之高。除了这些能和PGA职业球员媲美的球手，我们还有头一次上场的球员，结果在队友的鼓励下现场学习也越打越好。最后在下半场贡献了很多精彩击球，体现了808的团队合作和互相学习。

本次比赛的最长开球奖由俱乐部现任主席陈硕获得，
比赛的离洞最近奖分别是：Ben Zhang, Kevin, Yu Zhao, Ren jin.
晚餐和颁奖晚会在bellevue的半岛海鲜酒家举行，共有50多位球员和家属以及媒体的朋友参加。由王学中大夫赞助的丰厚的奖品为大家留下了难忘的一次聚会。每位参赛选手都领到了价值不菲的有808和王医生诊所徽标的高尔夫球，加上其他的奖品和价值$25元的高尔夫球毛巾的十个人的抽奖。

华人界的著名企业家Ben Zhang为我们808俱乐部下半年的比赛捐赠了100条价值$25元的高尔夫球毛巾，而且也印上了808的徽标。这是我们俱乐部成立以来数额最大的单笔捐款之一，

808六月的莱德杯比赛胜利闭幕了，一共有34位选手参加了当天的比赛。六月是西雅图最美的季节，天气非常的配合，既不是太热，又有阳光。比赛也非常的精彩，球场上留下了我们队员的很多笑声。双方杀的难解难分。会后统计比赛的两队的成绩，双方平分秋色。最后算到birdie的数量，两队仍然是打平。

再次特别感谢两位队长：Kerry Hu和Steven Lou。他们牺牲了很多个人的时间，来给大家分组。Henry Chen达到了当天的唯一一个eagle。黄成金是今天最大的黑马，刚学球不到一年的他，动作已经非常标准，而且获得了含金量特别大的最长开球奖。让人不得不佩服黄总的勤学苦练。最悲情的是Frank Xiao，有两个机会获得离洞最近奖，都被别人拿走了。我们的另外一位学球不久的队员Matt，不但闯进了推杆的最后一轮，还获得了一个离洞最近奖，和最低净杆奖。长江后浪推前浪呀！
我们俱乐部的资深会员Michael Wu，刚刚回国参与了中国的第一架787的接机仪式，而几十年前，Michael的父亲作为欢迎过第一架747抵达中国。Michael的太太Susan这次充当Caddie，陪Michael打完全程。

推杆比赛是一天中的又一个亮点，虽然俱乐部是第一次举行这样的比赛，但是获得了很大的成功。每个人都参与，而且每个人都有机会。那些平时推杆很好的选手，象Kerry Hu, Steve Yang，可能是因为心里压力的原因，反而提前出局。那些没有心理压力的笑到了最后。比赛难度的选取非常的出彩，第一轮是5尺的推杆，相对容易，随着第二轮，第三轮距离逐渐拉长，坡度逐渐变大，难度也越来越大。 当天的组织工作非常成功，负责组织工作的Martin有条不紊的协调着选手的比赛。进入最后一轮的六位选手是：Bruce Zhong, James Chen, Aries Lee, Henry Chen, Matt Yang, Yongtao You.

经过三轮的鏖战，James Chen 终于杀出重围，赢得了当天的大奖获得者： 价值$380的Scotty Cameron California Putter。看他的研究果岭的姿势，多专业呀！

晚上的颁奖晚会在中餐馆Spring举行，王学中大夫和冯姐夫妇为808俱乐部捐款$1000，正式承办7月份的健康杯比赛。

特别表扬一下808的团队，合作非常的成功，默契。每一个成员各司其职，Martin的比赛组织，Grace的注册和照相，使得我们晚上能够很快的回顾白天的精彩镜头，Juliet的晚餐筹备和晚会主持都非常的专业。大家对可口的饭菜都赞不绝口。真是一个难忘的一天。

Yesterday’s golf tournament has been very successful! It was great team work! Everybody has taken up his/her responsibility. It shows that we have a lot of talents in our management team, and we can achieve anything together! A lot of smiles and appreciations from our members were given to our management team.

The putting contest was organized very well， thanks to operation VP Martin. It was first time for us to have such a putting competition with a nice prize. It attracted a lot of attention. Everyone knows one has a chance. The setting and choice of holes were carefully chosen from easiest to hardest. Although only one winner it had but everyone thought one gave a best try. what a win for everyone!

Grace was always on duty in the registration desk. It showed our staff was always available for help and for solution if any question arise. She paid a special trip to go to the course in the weekend. It marked our dedication standard was high. The pictures was wonderful and amazingly quick available during the dinner. he pictures are very good and brought back a lot of good memory to everybody during the dinner! It was another big plus.

The food quality and service were superior. We heard a lot of appraise comments such as ” I felt so relaxed and comfortable after playing golf for a long day when I had such good good and service”. Actually Juliet was not only host the dinner but also entertain each dinner table and everyone. It was superb!

All Club 808 members had been looking forward to the May 5th tournament since early April. One primary reason is because we are playing at Chambers Bay – the 2015 official US Open golf course. The other reason is that we have good prizes to be awarded: a brand new sexy Cobra 2013 driver and Titleist golf balls. Thanks for the generous donation by our old friend Mr. Ben Zhang of $500. He is our honor member of 2013. Welcome onboard!

The weather was really cooperative with a bright sunny day and clear sky. Thirty-two of our members gathered at Chambers Bay Golf Course to kick off the first team competition event of 2013. Overlooking the link course from club house, the view of Puget sound is so beautiful, the nicely done golf course melted into the remote sea and islands. Looking at the course, everybody is confident, no trees to block the view, no water or pond to lose any balls, the fairway is so hard that ball rolls forever. Even though we started from the white tee, about 100 yard short of the PGA distance, the golf course gave all of us a lesson, the course was both challenging and frustrating. Even though the fairway looks exactly the same as the green, but you can never stop your ball on it, so many bunkers along the course; steep mountains to climb up and down; hilly greens with uneven pin positions; plus endless gutsy wind.

It’s indeed a unforgettable experience that we all endured the real test of the official US Open Golf Course and understand how tough it is to play a pro-golf game although our scores showed much less satisfactory than we normally play at other golf courses. But we can really proudly say: we have done it!

After the tough competition, here are the winners:
• The gross low: James Dong (89, the 2nd Best is 94), and received the prize of a $300 Cobra Driver.
• Longest drive in #5: Eric Zhao beating Ben Zhao and Michael Guo
• Close to Pin: Yongtao You, Ben Zhang, Steve Yang, Eric Zhao.

James Dong has won the prize with some injuries for both hands and knee, not sure if this is the strategy to win being an underdog. Ben Zhang had a good start by score an eagle on the first hole, but hitting a stone caused his wrist injury to recur so he failed a few holes. Eric has won both the longest drive and close to pin, congratulations, that is long and short game both improved!

All in all, it was a great game and our hard core golf players really had a wonderful and memorable event. In the end, we all can proudly say that we tested the US Open course to-be before Tiger actually did it.
